Learn the fundamentals of boxing, muay thai, and MMA at Pica Pau Jiu Jitsu! It's an engaging way to get in shape, relieve stress, and learn a skill with applications in real-world self-defense.
Class typically consists of a variety of padwork drills, focusing on fundamental body mechanics, footwork, and cardio. Students also learn how to hold pads for each other. Time is set aside at the end of class for experienced students to spar. Sparring is entirely optional.
Prior experience is not necessary. All striking classes are beginner-friendly. Like every class at Pica Pau, you will find a vibrant and welcoming community ready to help you jump in.
Class requires a basic pair of 12-16 oz gloves & a pair of hand wraps. We can provide these items for your first few classes, but it is highly recommended that you bring your own equipment as soon as possible - for comfort & sanitary purposes. Sparring requires a mouthguard and a protective cup.
